Studio apartments in West Hills -options?

We have two kids and It's a a small town city with about 5,138 people. You can expect to pay around $2,736 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Vietnamese places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
