West Hollywood is underrated, change my mind
OK so Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 6.1%, which is concerning. The median home value here is around $969,900, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $969,900 on average. Rent is about $2,103/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
Pros:
- Close to nature
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Boring for young people
Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
