OK so I'm single, late 50s, and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $2,613/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Uptown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- The school system scene is tough
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much reasonable but now it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
