Hi all, Rent is about $2,613/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $171,045 in West Islip. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
