Biggest downsides of living in West Jordan?

First post here. I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $1,650 for rent here. Homes are going for about $454,700 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -West Jordan sits at 224.4 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- High property taxes
- Poor road conditions
Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in The Heights area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Charlotte it's challenging.
