Unpopular opinion about West Jordan

I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $103,960 in West Jordan. You can expect to pay around $1,650 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 116K, West Jordan is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider -West Jordan sits at 224.4 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 34, moved here 15 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in East and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The pet-friendliness situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Westside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is average

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
