Is West Liberty walkable?

First post here. It's a a small town city with about 3,280 people. You can expect to pay around $622 for rent here. Median household income is $57,411, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely challenging and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
