I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 6,441 people. Rent is about $2,685/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I work in construction here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from LA about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great BBQ places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Fairview) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
