Hey everyone, I've been here for 5 years and Rent is about $1,936/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The cost of living is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I've lived in Uptown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Tampa about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..
