Hey, The median home value here is around $119,100, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Atlanta it's hit or miss.

Moved here from Phoenix about 13 years ago. I love the pace of life here. Still getting used to cultural scene but Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a lawyer and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
