Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 2 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The traffic is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.
