Worst things about West Odessa nobody talks about

Hi all, Just moved here 7 months ago and Homes are going for about $134,100 on average. With a population of 31,985, West Odessa is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience?

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- The weather scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
