Hey everyone, Poverty rate is 14.9%, which is around average. It's a a small town city with about 3,442 people. Household incomes average around $59,583 in West Orange. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Raleigh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.
