Quick question about West Palm Beach

Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider — West Palm Beach sits at 761.5 per 100K. The median home value here is around $369,800, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The cost of living is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
