Best and worst neighborhoods in West Pasco

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. With a population of 1,157, West Pasco is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from LA about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I work in healthcare here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is improving. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
