Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and With a population of 5,221, West Pleasant View is a small town. The median home value here is around $454,000, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,795/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -West Pleasant View sits at 153.4 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is tough
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Westside for 14 years. Moved from Austin for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is tough - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Limited shopping options. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The traffic is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
