The good and bad of living in West Rancho Dominguez
Alright, We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -West Rancho Dominguez sits at 458.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 10.4%, which is around average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Nashville about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Springfield area are decent. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 2 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
