OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,159/month for a decent place. Median household income is $61,974, which feels about average for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Old Town area are average. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
