Honest thoughts on life in West Sacramento

I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,568 for rent here. Poverty rate is 9.9%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $497,100 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- The traffic scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
