I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -West Sacramento sits at 389.9 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Francisco about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
