Thinking about relocating to West Sacramento from Cleveland

Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -West Sacramento sits at 389.9 per 100K. Homes are going for about $497,100 on average. Poverty rate is 9.9%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for West Sacramento? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Westside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.
