Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $215,000, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $75,465 in West Seneca. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Downtown area are improving. Kids love it here.
