Freelancing from West Springfield Town -experience?

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Poverty rate is 6.7%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $307,900 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,635 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Sunset area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..
