Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,445/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 8.2%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..
