West Yarmouth in the winter -how bad?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $456,800, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Dallas about 8 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
