Cost of living reality check -Westbrook

Alright, The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Westbrook sits at 177.4 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Moved here from Seattle about 1 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to safety but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Seattle it's improving.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The public transit scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
