OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 15,789 people. Median household income is $136,917, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Uptown area are tough. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Nashville about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is decent.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
