Is Westbury walkable?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 20s, and With a population of 15,789, Westbury is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 36, moved here 1 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Greenfield and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Can feel isolated
3. The outdoor recreation situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $40K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
