Planning a move to Westchester -neighborhoods?

OK so Been living here since 2015. Rent is about $1,734/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $473,300 on average. Median household income is $75,905, which feels about average for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any help is appreciated. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in tech. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The housing market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely average and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
