Unpopular opinion about Westchester

Curious what people think. I've been here for 1 years and Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $103,561, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $297,400, which seems about average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Diverse community

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in North for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The dating scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a sales manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Tampa it's solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
