Westerly in the winter -how bad?

First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,243 for rent here. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,243/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much stable but now it's better than expected.

Came here for work and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
