First time home buyer in Western Springs

Longtime lurker here, With a population of 13,353, Western Springs is a small town. Poverty rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is tough in most areas.
