Raising a family in Westerville -thoughts?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 47-year-old accountant and Household incomes average around $107,054 in Westerville. Median household income is $107,054, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Westerville sits at 180.9 per 100K. With a population of 38,543, Westerville is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Mosquitoes and humidity
The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- The food scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 11 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
