Is Westfield worth moving to in 2026?

We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,064/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 40,673 people. With a population of 40,673, Westfield is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The safety scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
