As a 10-year resident, here are some things about Westland that don't make it into the guides:
1. The local music scene is really vibrant
2. Several hidden gem restaurants that rival big city food
3. The sunsets here are genuinely beautiful
It's not for everyone but it's perfect for us.

Check out the Lakewood area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
