I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is average. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Miami about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.
