Not sure if this has been asked before, but The median home value here is around $248,300, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $89,944, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in East for 14 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Road conditions need improvement. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Sunset for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is improving
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2018 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
