OK so It's a a small town city with about 4,893 people. Poverty rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $175,100, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,029/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 12 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Raleigh it's tough.
