Weston is underrated, change my mind

Been meaning to ask this. I've been here for 11 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Weston sits at 45.9 per 100K. Rent is about $2,794/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- High property taxes
- Chain restaurants dominate
Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 46, moved here 10 years ago from LA. I've lived in Downtown and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Close to major attractions
2. Affordable housing options
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The public transit situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
