Alright, Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. The median home value here is around $215,900, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $215,900 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is improving
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community vibe is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 55, moved here 6 years ago from LA. I've lived in Pine Hills and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The outdoor recreation situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for couples. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Greenfield area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
