Considering Westover vs Houston -help me decide

So, I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $895/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $179,500, which is actually reasonable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions
- The traffic scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..
