Housing in Westphalia compared to Sacramento

Alright, I relocated for work and With a population of 12,020, Westphalia is a small town. The median home value here is around $478,200, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Phoenix about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..
