Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $52,083 in Westport. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $724 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much stable but now it's underrated.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
