Affordable areas near Westvale?

I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $2,125/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $101,326 in Westvale. You can expect to pay around $2,125 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Westvale sits at 805.4 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 47, moved here 4 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Greenfield and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Limited shopping options
3. The healthcare situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Lakewood area are solid. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 14 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much established but now it's solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Minneapolis it's tough.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
