Born and raised here. What would you do? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

I work in manufacturing here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is solid. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The job market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
