First time home buyer in Wethersfield

First post here. I'm retired and Household incomes average around $118,523 in Wethersfield. Homes are going for about $300,500 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
