Relocating to Wethersfield, CT -pros and cons?

Longtime lurker here, Median household income is $118,523, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 39, moved here 8 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Uptown and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Growing food and restaurant scene
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The cost of living situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
