Why I chose Weymouth Town over bigger cities

Rent is about $1,861/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,861 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely excellent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Sunset) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to LA it's excellent.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Definitely worth checking out..
