I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 53,453, Wheaton is a smaller city. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.
