Affordable areas near Wheeling?

Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 6.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $83,251, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Wheeling sits at 74.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,578 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Far from major airports
Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Pine Hills area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much reasonable but now it's decent.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in South area are average. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
